The One Love Manchester gig took place yesterday with a star-studded line-up including Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.

While the stars paid their individual tributes to the victims of the Manchester bombings onstage, one particularly heart-warming moment happened off stage.

A ring of steel surrounded the stadium to ensure the safety of fans and uniformed police were visible everywhere. Video footage of the concert captured one policeman joining hands with several young girls and dancing around in a circle as Justin Bieber took to the stage.

The video of the policeman soon circulated online with social media users feeling inspired by his kind gesture to the children.

The act of defiance in the face of two terror attacks in two weeks left the British public feeling hopeful and happy.

Twitter user Sheppy wrote: “This sums up the Manchester spirit to me.”

Others wanted to identify the officer so they could thank him for lifting spirits following the devastating terror attack in London on Saturday night.

“Who is the #dancingpoliceman? He has lifted the spirits of the nation with a simple act of kindness,” Twitter user Paul wrote.

Another Twitter user Adam directly tweeted Greater Manchester police saying: “Give this man a pay rise!”

Meanwhile, headliner Ariana Grande helped comfort a young girl who broke down in tears during a duet of My Everything with a local choir from Manchester Parrs Wood High School.

It was a particularly poignant moment as some members of the choir had been present at Ariana’s concert at the Manchester Arena when the bomb went off, according to The Sun.

"Some of the kids from the choir were actually there on that terrible night watching Ariana," BBC One host Sara Cox explained during live coverage of the event.

Schoolgirl Natasha Seth joined Ariana at the front to lead the performance but found herself being overcome with tears.

Kind Ariana hugged the youngster as she performed and was visibly emotional herself.  The singer struggled to introduce the next segment of the show after the song ended.

“Tonight is all about love, am I right?” she addressed the crowd after the choir left the stage. “Come on, let’s go,” she added, visibly fighting back tears.

The 23-year-old has been praised for returning to Manchester following the horrific attacks and Piers Morgan even made a public apology to her for criticising her.

The concert has raised over £2 million in donations for victims of the bombing and their families so far.
