Goodall's cooking pastes feedback

Hi,
Just want to say thanks for the pastes which I received last week. We have used the garlic and chilli pastes in stir fries and fatijas which were excellent. Also used the italian herbs, garlic and rosemary and shallots in spaghetti bolangese. These are also lovely added to chopped tomatoes or passata to compliment pasta. I've used the ginger to accompany indian curry. They are so convienient, just pop them in the fridge and use when needed. Saves all that cutting and preparing that used to take ages. As a new mum I haven't the energy and time to spend time on prepping food, we need something quick and easy in between our seven week olds demands! Definately going to buy these when they are on the market. I've told all my friends and they can't wait to try them too. Thanks Goodalls and Mummypages!

Hi,
thanks MummyPages for choosing me for this trial. I have used Goodall's brand before, especially the Soy Sauce, all the Colourings and Essences range. I have tried from the new range of Goodall's cooking pastes the Garlic, Italian herbs and Chilli to make 3 delicious dips for tortillas. They are easy to use and very convenient. I used the Shallot and Chilli for marinade chicken breasts with quinoa. I liked the most the Chilli paste and the Garlic, saves me a lot of preparation time. Overall I would recommend these pastes to everyone, as they are very versatile and handy to use. I would definetly buy the Garlic, Herbs, Chilli, Shallot and Rosemary pastes, not sure about the Ginger as I don't use ginger much.
Thanks again!
Monika

First off i'd like to thank you for letting me be a part of this trial. One of the best ones i've ever done! Have to say these pastes are a genius idea! So convenient and easy to use and the good part is they keep for up to 4 weeks in the fridge once opened! But they'd never last that long i can assure you!

I'm a big big big fan of the garlic one and the shallot one, i've tried them with different meats as a topping and even roasted potatoes with it. Love love love the italian herbs, goes so well as a topping on chicken.
These little pots have to be an everyday cooking ingredient for every family, i usually struggle to think of how to add a bit of taste to meals, most end up tasteless because i just don't know what to add in but with these pots you can add any amount and anyone to most meals which is great. I've got the cooking bug right now with these pots, i'm cooking alot more things in different ways which is great!
By far one of the best products to date that i've tried, I'd definately go on and buy them from now on. Out of them all it'd have to be between the garlic and the shallot one that i'd buy again. Amazing taste from these 2 pastes!
Have to say well done to goodalls for producing these little pots! they're just amazing! And i'll be definately recommending them to other mummy's i know!

Thanks again for including me : )

I am so delighted I was picked to try out these pastes. I had never used any of Goodalls products before but was informed by my mother how she has used Goodalls over the years. As its only a week since recieving the pastes I was dying to open and smell all of them. I love the fact they are all in the fridge and so easy to access them without the idea of chopping up anything. Just a click of the cap and a teaspoon away. First of all I used the rosemary in between roast potatoes which gave them a lovely taste and a different idea to serve up roasters.

Im forever chopping up chillies for curries and the chilli paste had a lovely bite to to it and also adding the garlic to spaghetti bolognaise was great for the garlic lover in the house. Wasnt too sure how much to add at first incase the intensity of garlic was too much but will be adding in more next time. My partner loved the smell of the garlic jar so that gave it a thumbs up. My fridge has opened up to a new way of experimenting with these miracle jars. I love the fact that my hands dont smell of garlic fingers or the worry of getting chillies in my eyes.

I still have two more pastes to try out and can't wait. Im planning ahead with meals now and using flavours I wouldnt dream of. I will post another review in a week on my creative thinking with these little magical jars.

Well firstly thanks so much for this opportunity to try these pastes and secondly thank you for bringing these into my life!!!! They are a fantastic timesaver and very tasty. I have tried them all and am really impressed. I was a little apprehensive to begin with as I felt that nothing would taste the same as a freshly chopped garlic or shallot, but these pastes really hit the spot. The italian herbs were fab also. I will definitively be buying these in the future, so handy, so convenient and so tasty, Thank you Mummypages and thank you Goodalls, you have just made this mum very happy!!

Hi there, thanks a million for selecting me to try these pastes - I really enjoyed using them and will most def purchase some of them in the future
I have of course heard of Goodalls before and have used many of their products for both baking and cooking, my press is currently full of food colouring, spices and herbs of all sorts - I love adding a bit of flavour to food
I loved using the pastes and added at least one of them to every dish I have made over the last while, I have two favourites - the chilli and the garlic - they were both absolutley brilliant and added so much flavour with no effort at all from me - I hate chopping chillies with a passion and garlic leaves a smell on my hands no matter what I do so it was big plus for me to just be able to spoon some out into the pan - these two will be a staple in my fridge as they are so useful for almost every dinner I make
I also loved the chopped Italian herbs - the smell in the house was devine when I was making my usual spag bol and the kids were in and out complaining they were starving until it was ready, I would buy this one again too
I used the shallots a lot too but to be really honest I dont think they added a lot more flavour to my cooking so I dont think that would be one that I would purchase
Similar for the ginger - my family wouldnt be a lover of ginger in savoury food - we prefer it in cakes - I will have a think about whether it would work in a cake instead of ground ginger but again to be honest I dont think it would be on my shopping list
Again the garlic and rosemary one wasnt really a hit here with the kids mainly because they wouldnt be over fond of the rosemary flavour - myself and the hubby really liked it though
Overall I would def buy the garlic, chilli and italian herb pastes again - they are so versatile you can use them on almost anything to add flavour esp if you are trying to jazz up a mince dish, I did spread a bit over the skin of my chicken before I roasted it and it was really tasty, also made a chicken curry, spag bol, a couple of stir frys and am planning on drizzling a bit of the Italian herb one over my next homemade pizza
Again thanks for sending them out to me to try - I love cooking and am always trying to think up new dishes that the kids will eat !

Was absolutely delighted to be chosen to trial these new pastes. I have used Goodalls herbs and spices vanilla essence and pepper before so knew the name well! I have 3 kids under 5 so anything that saves me time and adds flavour to my cooking has to be a good thing. First thing I tried was roast stuffed chicken and I rubbed the garlic and rosemary paste under the skin, this was a hit with all the family and was delicious. I also used it as a marinade for chicken breasts. The chillie paste I used when making home made beef burgers and it really gave them a zing! The chillie was also a good addition to butternut squash and red pepper soup and added a kick to it. The garlic and shallots I used when making spaghetti bolognaise and stir fries. Haven't had a chance to try all the things I want to yet! Thinking of potatoe wedges/ sweet potatoe wedges with chilli or garlic and rosemary roasted veg. The possibilities are endless. So handy and convenient and don't take up a lot of space in the fridge. I would definitely buy the chilli, garlic and rosemary, garlic and shallots again but not sure about the ginger although could always add it to stirfrys! Overall these are a winner with me!

We have really enjoyed the Goodall cooking pastes. They really make cooking a healthy meal for the family easier and quicker. The ones we used the most were garlic, shallots and ginger. I just found that when i used the ginger one you had use a lot of it to get the taste of ginger. But I found it very handy to use instead of peeling and chopping fresh ginger. I use a lot of garlic in my cooking, so would use the garlic one often. I did enjoy it but found it a bit on the oily side.
Overall, we really liked the pastes and will continue to use them We will be recommending them. Thanks again!

Hi, Thank you Mummy Pages for choosing me to test the new cooking pastes by Goodall's. I am thrilled to say that I am hooked on them, they are genius! They save so much time when preparing dinner and its great that they last up to 4 weeks in the fridge. I already use alot of Goodall's products when baking so these will definately be added to my grocery list. I love the rosemary & garlic which I added into my roasted vegetables, it gave them a beautiful flavour and the smell was devine when they were cooking! I grow my own herbs but I will definately be buying this when my rosemary isn't in season! Try rubbing it into your lamb a few hours before roasting.

The chilli paste is also one of my favourites. I hate chopping chillies so I don't really buy them, I use a powder instead but the paste is ideal if your looking for real chopped chillies. I added this into my chilli con carne which my husband loves! I was expecting it to be very hot but was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't too spicy as I'm not a fan of very spicy food. Obviously if you like spicy food just add another teaspoon in, I was afraid to use more than one as I thought it might be too hot.

The italian herb paste is ideal for spaghetti bolognaise, it adds flavour to lack lustre jarred sauces! I also used it in my meatballs along with the garlic paste.I spread it on brushetta and mixed it in with par boiled baby potatoes and roasted them in the oven, they came out brown and crispy with a beautiful flavour.

The only one I didn't use was the ginger, I don't like the flavour of it in my food so my mother happily took it off my hands as she cooks quite alot of asian dishes for her friends and she said that she found it brilliant as it had a more intense flavour than the powdered ginger.

Thanks again Mummy Pages for introducing these must haves into my cubboard!

I was delighted to be chosen for this trial. I'm a busy mother of three boys and am always on the lookout for timesaving tricks especially as I'm returning to full time work later this year after a career break. I am so sick of buying garlic, ginger, chillies and fresh herbs only to use a small amount and bin the rest, these pastes are genius!
I've used them in so many different ways, ginger, garlic and chilli to marinade chicken for a stir fry, herbs in my meatballs, bolognese and lasagne, added to passata for a healthy pasta sauce, garlic breads, chicken kievs.. It has made it so much easier to cook homemade healthy food from scratch for my family. I love that I can just pop them back into the fridge for the next time, I have honestly used one or another of them each day since I got them and will without a doubt be buying them again.
I'm currently trying to loose some weight and was concerned that there may be hidden oils etc that would hamper my weight loss but I've continued to loose as before and am adding so much flavour to my food that it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet at all.
Thank you Goodalls, and Mummy Pages!

I have to say I really enjoy cooking but the chopping and crushing of garlic and chilles and herbs can make it very time consuming. I've tried products like this before and always found that while they are handy, they can comprimise on flavour and not give the real deep flavour hit of the fresh alternative. Well, not these products, the garlic is lovely and strong - we are addicted to the garlic and rosemary one on baby potatoes roasted. The Italian one is fab in passata for pizza sauce and gave a lovely flavour to the kids favourite spag bol! The chillies one is perfect for curries and chilli con carne. I tried the shallot one today with croast hicken and it was lovely in the gravy too. I will definitely be buying these jars again - thanks Goodalls for the trial package!

Hi, thank you for choosing me for the trial, I really enjoyed thinking up ways of using them. As my son loves pasta a lot, we used italian herbs, garlic, shallots and a bit of ginger in bolognese. Most of them plus chilli we used in chilli con carne, yummy. I stired in more chilli after I gave my son his portion as he's 3 and wouldn't like too much spice. Rosemary and shallots I put in with lamb casserole. Garlic and shallots are also very handy in making some fresh vinegrette dressing for your salad. Everything tastes so fresh but it doesn't take time to chop, it's brilliant. I would definetely be using most of them in the future, especially italian herbs, garlic and ginger. I think it would be great if Goodalls wanted to make a jar like that with chopped sun dried tomatoes in olive oil. As a full time working mother I think they are a great way of cutting time in preparing lovely fresh dinner. Thank you Goodalls.

At the beginning I wanted to thank MummyPages for chance to test these cooking Pastes. I had never used Goodal's products. But now I will. Tested Pastes make life easier. They are easy to store and keep freshness, aroma and flavor all this time. They are easy to use, convenient and versatile. They give greate taste to the dish. Everyone loved my spaghetti bolognaise with Italian herbs, even my five year old boy - poor eater. I love garlic and I love both pastes: garlic and garlic with rosemary. I add them to almost everything: marinades for meats, sauces and dips. I also add shallots and some chillies to my stew. FantasticSmiling Only ginger did not convince me, probably because I do not use it in my kitchen. I will surely recommend this Pastes to my friends.
Thank you for these "Time savers"!

Hi Mummypages,

Thank you so much for including me on this mums say trial. I had never used Goodalls products before. Just out of habbit I usually buy the same things in the supermarket.

The new cooking pastes are fantastic. They make life so much easier. Its so hard to find the time to cook things from scratch for the family. These cooking pastes will change that. I have no excuse now. They will become part of a staple store cupboard items. No chopping and dicing for me!

Our favouirte was the garlic just because we are big garlic fans here and chuck it in loads of dishes. I have been using all of the flavours in whatever I'm cooking. They were all delicious.

Thanks again mummypages and Goodalls,

Jennie

Thanks for choosing me for this test!

I had so much fun trying these out. I already have lots of Goodall spices which I use regularly. I have used prepared herbs before but found these ones brilliant. They were really fresh tasting and so convenient.

I used them mainly for marinades. My favourite was for chicken - buttermilk with garlic, shallots and Italian herbs. So delicious. I also loved the combination of garlic and rosemary - really good with lamb chops.

They are also great in a cheat's risotto.

I am not keen on really spicy food but found the chilli really easy to use to get the flavour but not the heat! I never buy whole chillies as they usually end up going off so this was much easier!

The ginger was great as well, best of all no grated knuckles!

I love reading new recipes and then adapting to suit us! These jars made life so much easier and quicker. My daughter loves helping me cook and loved the smells of the herbs and spices, and loved being able to mix them with oil/honey/lemon juice, etc.

Can't figure out which I like most - probably the garlic and rosemary. It is a different combination to most on the market.

I will definitely buy them again - I would also love a basil only, a parsley only, a mint only and a coriander only versions as I am unable to keep the potted versions alive! I love the convenience and the lack of wastage.

My only quibble is having no label on the lid. The first thing I did was write the names of each mix on each lid – firstly to make it faster to grab from the fridge and secondly quicker to put away so not to mix the lids.

Thanks for the opportunity to try them - mummy pages & Goodalls!
