The father of a 30-year-old woman, who was discovered in her burned-out Belfast home on Sunday, has spoken of his distress and devastation in the aftermath of his daughter's death.

Stephen Dornan appealed to the local community for any information which may lead to the arrest of his daughter's murderer, saying: "Whatever you've seen - how little, how big, how small, come forward."

It was initially believed that Jennifer Dornan, whose was body found in her Dunmurry home, had perished in an accidental blaze, but post mortem results indicate the popular mother-of-three had died before the fire was started.

Commenting on the shocking incident, Jennifer's father said: "It was bad enough thinking that she died in a tragic accident, but to find out that somebody murdered her, and then set her house on fire to cover it up - it's a disgrace."

Elaborating on the heinous nature of his daughter's death, Stephen said: "This animal killed an innocent, defenceless woman in cold blood."

A vigil, which was held for Jennifer in west Belfast last night, saw mourners share their memories of the young woman, with close friend, Tanya Watson, saying: "Everybody loved her - no one had a bad word to say about her. Not one person here tonight will ever forget Jennifer - and the person that she was."

An online campaign has been established in an effort to help Jennifer's three children, eight-year-old Martin, six-year-old Jayden and four-year-old Abi.

Our thoughts go out to Jennifer's devastated family and friends at this heartbreaking time.
