We have got our kit a few days ago and my little girl Diana was really happy because she could play with the compost haha. Now she is enjoying every day to water the growing tomatos.

Thank you so much for including us on this trial. We had so much fun planting the kids had an absolute ball. They have been watering (lightly) and watching the pots ever day since. Brilliant fun together over a rainy weekend.

We got our lovely hamper and planted it last week. It was really easy. I never knew Heinz offered real Heinz seeds to plant and grow your own Heinz tomatoes - we're going to have a busy summer watching them grow. We always buy Heinz Ketchup - nothing else will do in our house. So the kids want to know if we'll be able to make our own tomato sauce

We are now officially on 'tomato watch' in our house. Ha ha.
We are very familiar with the Heinz brand, and always buy Heinz tomato sauce (we've tried other non brands, but the kids will not hear of it). Same goes for Heinz Beans - they are the only ones we buy. I always have Heinz tomato soup in the press for busy days too.
I hadn't heard of 'Heinz Grow Your Own' until I saw it on MummyPages, and I was really excited about growing them. We have grown our own tomatoes to grow - not recently though. I've never grown anything with the kids, so it was great to get them involved. The kids really enjoyed being in the garden, and having a proper job. And they are absolutely fascinated with the idea of real tomatoes growing ... it was quite the revelation for them when they found out they're not made in the shops!!!
We shall keep you posted on our progress.

Ha ... it's the same in our house mumtorach ... I've also had to buy some extra mini watering cans, so everybody can do their own watering ... just a drop each though, we don't want to drown the seeds before we've even started Wink

Heinz Ketchup and Heinz Tomato are the number one choice in our house - always in the shopping trolley. Hadn't heart a thing about Heinz Grow Your Own until I got to take part in this trial. Had a really good time planting the seeds - the kids were so chuffed to be playing with soil and not getting given out to. ha ha. I suppose boys will be boys.
Will let you know as soon as we see the green shoots!

Thanks so much for letting us take part in the trial. I was aware of Heinz brands before such as their sauces and their beans. I never heard of grow your own before this trial, but will definately maken a c conscious effort to grow more as it was great fun and my daughter loved it . She was asking all about the seeds and I was telling her, this got her really excited and inquizative, which is great.we recieved our grow your own kit a few days ago and we hadgreat excitement with it, it was such a great thing to do, it was really fun. My little girl really took ownership of 'her tomatoes' haha. she waters them everyday and asks about them growing, cannot wait to see her face when she can pick tomatoes from them and tastes ghem, it was really simple and easy to do. definately a great experience from Mummy pages and Heinz. thanks so much

We received our beautiful basket full of goodies from Heinz. My daughter was so excited and very happy to get her hands dirty. We planted our seeds over the weekend. Heinz has always been part of our family so we are very happy to be part of this trial. We always choose Heinz over any other brand we had not heard about Heinz grow your own so this is great fun and we can't wait to see the results. My daughter really enjoyed this and she was telling all her friends about this.

AHHHHH the excitement when our package arrived. I can safely say I wasnt expecting that, so thank you very much mummy pages and Heinz. I of course was aware of the Heinz brand name and the sauces and beans are a regular feature in our house. I was not aware however of the "grow your own" initiative, and we are delighted to be a part of it. Having grown tomatoes bc (before children) its great to get back to the process again. We also planted some lettuce to have with our tommys when they grow.

So currently on seedling watch here in our house. The lettuce is winning but our toddler is rooting for the tomatoes, he is like prince charles chatting to them every day :)

Well our package has arrived.!!!! It was huge and talk about having everything you need included, thank you very much mummy pages and Heinz. I was aware of the Heinz brand name and the sauces and beans are a regular in the shopping trolly. I was not aware however of the "grow your own" initiative until Mummy Pages posted the info, and we are delighted to be a part of it.

My daughter was delighted planting the seeds and making a mess of the sunroom with the compost :) no sign of any little sprouts get but she is diligently watering them everyday. Hopefully we'll signs of life soon. Will keep you updated......

so the seeds arrived and we figured we'd plant them over the weekend, and (no surprise) friends of the kids arrived just at the right time! Cue a quick hunt in the shed for a couple of extra pots and much fun with messy compost :-) then the eldest decided that she was going to decorate everyones pots, complete with age (the middle one reckons that 3/4 is vitally
important! me, on the other hand, well, I had hoped my pot would escape that bit but no such luck...)...
Then the watching began until at last, a week later..... woohoo! we have seedlings :-) the kids think this is just the best thing ever, but haven't quite figured out how these can be turned in to their ketchup. I can see some homemade ketchup in my future!

Hi, just a few pics of our tomato seed planting :-) took about 2 weeks but we now have a small stem with a couplw of leaves, which my daughter nearly tore off until we saved it :-)
My niece, who is 6, planted the seeds with us and my son, who is 13, helps with the watering. My daughter just keeps an eye on them for now, she's only 20 months so it's safer for the plant that way :-) Just going to get a few in their own pots as they start coming up a bit more :-)
