A Twitter hunt has been launched to find the little Iraqi boy at the centre of a heart-wrenching photo that has touched people all over the world.
In a photo first shared by the Twitter account Fanatik, the little boy is seen with his back to the camera, showing off his DIY football jersey – made from a plastic bag – with Barcelona and Argentina footballer Lionel Messi’s name and team number on the back.

The image really struck a chord on the social media site, and was liked and re-tweeted hundreds of times around the world.
According to a fan account for Messi, media representatives from his team saw the photo and got in touch in an effort to identify and locate this boy so that the football star “can arrange something for him”.
The search is now on to track down the devoted little fan – let’s hope the power of social media will make his dreams come true.
