There was heartbreak and shock at a small town in Co. Cavan after news emerged that a family of five, including three children, had been found dead at their home in Ballyjamesduff.
The bodies of Alan and Clodagh Hawe, who were both teachers, and their three boys Niall, 11, Ryan, six and 13-year-old Liam were found after a relative was unable to gain entry into their home on Monday morning.
The case is being treated as a murder-suicide, and police released a statement saying “the most likely scenario is that one person in that house may have caused the death of the others."
