Father’s Day is a time for celebrating dads all over the country, but for those who have lost a child, whether in pregnancy, infancy or childhood, it can be an extremely tough and emotional day.

This year, Anam Cara, a charity that offers parental and sibling bereavement support, is calling on the public to help raise awareness of the services they provide to bereaved fathers by taking part in their #Daddyandme campaign.

Calling on mums, dads and kids to post their favourite picture of them with their dad, the campaign will also help to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

Simply post your selfie on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and donate €2 to the charity by texting REMEMBER to 50300.

Every year at least 2,000 families experience the death of a son or daughter, and over the past five years, Anam Cara has provided vital support to 1,750 bereaved fathers throughout Ireland.

Sadly, there are many more fathers and families who have experienced the death of a child that the charity needs to reach - and they need the funds to do it.

For €2 you can help contribute to this very important service.
