Horror as teens lose limbs in devastating beach tragedy

Two separate shark attacks in a North Carolina town have horrified the community of Oak Island this weekend.

According to reports, the two teens involved have both lost limbs following the horrifying attacks which happened within hours of each other.

The teenage boy, who was the second victim of the shark attack, has lost an arm while the teenage girl is understood to have lost part of her arm and also faces the possibility of losing a leg.

Commenting on the scene which followed the shock incidents, holiday-maker Steve Bouser, said: "It was quite nightmarish. I saw someone carry this girl out of the water and people were swarming around and trying to help."

Echoing her husband's statements, Brenda Bouser recalled the event which saw passersby frantically apply makeshift tourniquets to the teens's injuries, saying: "It was so much like a scene from Jaws"

It is understood that no further information has been released regarding the teenagers' conditions.
