We know that having fuller pouty lips is fashionable at the moment, but are there any cheap and easy ways to get the results you want? Yes! In this article, we will give you some tricks on how to get that pouty look without spending a fortune.
Step 1: Pull out your makeup bag and find the following:
- Lip liner
- Lipstick
- Translucent powder
- Concealer
- Foundation
- Clear or frosted gloss
Step 2: Prepare your lips
Put on your foundation as normal, but remember to apply it over your lips as well as your face. Then pat concealer onto your lips and around their edges. The reason for doing this is to blur your natural lip line so you can re-create a fuller one. After this, apply a thin layer of translucent powder all over your face including your lips, this will set the foundation and concealer. To know if you’ve done this step right, your lips should be almost the same colour as your face and there shouldn’t be a clear line showing where your lips are.
Step 3: Start lining
Line your lips with your chosen lip liner colour, following the natural shape just outside your natural lip line so that the results still look like your natural lip shape. Be careful not to go too far, as it may then look fake and obvious. Using a colour that’s too bold can make lips appear smaller overall and too light, they may not stand out enough. It is recommended to opt for a medium, natural-looking lip colour. One you have applied the liner; fill your lips in with the lip pencil.
Step 4: Apply the lippy
Now it’s time for the lipstick. Blot it with tissue and then apply a second coat. You can also cover it with a layer of powder and then apply another lipstick coat over that; this increases the staying power of your lipstick.
Step 5: Gloss
Finally, apply some clear or frosted gloss to the bottom centre of your lips, and then press them together for a natural sheen. Gloss will reflect the light and make your lips look fuller.
