Using a tampon without an applicator can take a little practice, if your tween is having problems explain the following to her:
  • Instruct her to wash her hands first.
  • Remove the wrapper as instructed.
  • Gently pull the cord away from the base of the tampon.
  • Using your fingers, guide the tampon into place, aiming it towards your lower back.
  • You will know the tampon is correctly inserted when you can no longer feel it.
  • Then, wash your hands again.
  • To take the tampon out, relax and gently pull on the cord.
  • Wrap the tampon in tissue and place in a bin.
