An image of pre-peeled oranges in plastic containers has cause such uproar on Twitter that the supermarket brand has had to pull them.
Nathalie Gordon took to Twitter to share a picture of pre-peeled oranges that she spotted in Whole Foods Market - a US store - adding a fairly funny caption: "If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn't need to waste so much plastic on them."

The tweet, which has been shared a whopping 52,000 times, received a VERY mixed reaction online, with some for and others against the idea.
While many were quick to comment on the fact that it was just “contributing to plastic taking over the planet”, others felt that it would help those who couldn't physically peel an orange.
@StephanieBe @awlilnatty Just FYI, not everybody is physically able to peel an orange.

@AlexCKaufman @awlilnatty While it looks like a waste to you and I, many senior citizens struggle to swallow an orange let alone peel one.

@WholeFoods @awlilnatty yeah but it's helpful for people who can't peel oranges.

Seeing the huge reaction their pre-peeled oranges received, Whole Foods Market decided to remove it from their shelves, much to the dismay of many.
@awlilnatty Definitely our mistake. These have been pulled. We hear you, and we will leave them in their natural packaging: the peel.

@WholeFoods @awlilnatty I'm so sorry you've decided to do that. I have rheumatoid disease and it's often impossible to peel an orange.
