When it comes to water safety, parents often envision rescuing their children from a potentially hazardous situation, but what if the roles were reversed as one little girl from Texas experienced in recent days?
Five-year-old Allison was sitting on a deck chair at her home in Corpus Christi when she realised her mother, Tracy Anderwald, had suffered a seizure in the swimming pool and was floating face down in the water.
Wading into the water in an effort to save her mum, Allison, who understandably looked a little uncertain as to what to do, can be seen approaching Tracy before eventually dragging her mother to the shallow end of the water,
After turning her mother over so she could breath, the heroic little girl, who learned to swim at the age of two, alerted family members who immediately contacted emergency services.
Commenting on what could have been a heartbreaking family tragedy, Allison told The Corpus Christi Caller Times that she had no recollection of the incident, saying: “I did not know where I was. They did not tell me about the incident for a while.”
Footage of the incident has clocked up almost 32,000 views since its upload on Tuesday, with one YouTube user writing: "That's a Super Hero right there! Teach the little ones those Rescue Skills!"
We couldn't agree more!
