If you want to learn CPR for babies and children, the best way to do it is to attend CPR classes.
Most hospitals and medical centres offer courses, or can refer you to a registered trainer who does.

CPR stands for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, and it can be an invaluable skill to know how to perform it correctly on your children. There is a big difference between CPR for grown ups, and CPR for children though, and you could do more harm than good if you perform it incorrectly.

During a CPR class for babies and children, you will be instructed on a child sized dummy, which will help you to learn the correct application of the compressions and breaths. There are usually two classes per course – one for babies, and one for toddlers, and it’s a good idea to learn both, as the technique differs.

If you can’t find a class in your area, or you would like to learn CPR for babies and children at home, then you can either buy a home learning kit, that includes a dummy and a DVD, or you could find a group of parents that also want to learn with you, and hire a private trainer to hold a class in your home.
