While our minds and our bodies may age, the loving bond shared between two people remains eternally young – and the following photo proves this in the most beautiful way.
Hearts all over the world have been melted, after a daughter shared a photo of her parents celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary while in hospital.
Sharing the photo with the Love What Matters Facebook page, Julie Gottula explained that both parents were staying in the same hospital – her mother had only been admitted that morning – when she realised the significance of the date.
After having a word with staff at the CHI Bergan Mercy, Julie was left totally overwhelmed by what happened next – a special dinner was prepared for her parents, served up on a beautifully decorated table with flowers and wine.
“The look on my parents’ faces was priceless when they saw the special meal that was prepared just for them. Smiles from ear to ear, feeling very special,” wrote Julie.
As you can imagine, the moving image quickly went viral, and many have lauded the hospital staff for their effort.
“Now this is what love, care, kindness [and] respect is all about. How many people can say that they were married this long? Thanks for your thoughtful hearts,” wrote one follower.
Congratulations to the couple on their milestone, and we hope they will be back home and in good health very soon.
