The Irish animation industry has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and one of its most exciting projects right now is the delightful new series Nelly & Nora.

Aimed at pre-schoolers, Nelly & Nora follows the adventures of two sisters who live in the city but enjoy wonderful adventures during their holidays by the sea.

MummyPages recently met with the show’s developer, Emma Hogan, to discuss its story and appeal, and indeed, its early success.

While the show is premiering on RTÉ’s children’s channel, RTÉjr, it will soon be broadcasting to children all over the world. As well as recently being picked up by BBC’s children’s channel CBeebies, Nelly & Nora will soon be rolled out across the Nordic countries also.

The trailer for the show gives a little insight into the beautiful world of Nelly & Nora, and Emma admits that positivity and embracing the world around us are very much part of the message behind the show.

Indeed, Nelly and Nora’s outlook on the world is refreshingly different from that of many popular children’s characters; they are adventurous girls who embrace nature – even the rain!

Check out the video below for a further insight into the delightful world of Nelly & Nora.
