A Dublin company is celebrating after its innovative baby clothing range was shortlisted for a prestigious award in the US.

Creeper Crawlers beat off stiff competition with its ‘Easy Grip Crawl Suits’ - a range designed specifically to help babies crawl on wooden floors and tiles - being placed in the top five best baby products at last month’s JPMA Innovation Awards.

Made from the softest 100 percent cotton with chemical-free dyes, the innovative ‘Easy Grip Crawl Suits’ feature “grippable” bugs on the shins and feet, which allow babies to crawl safely and more successfully on all surfaces.

Creator of Creeper Crawlers, Neurological Development Therapist Ollwyn Moran, came up with the idea after noticing her own children’s difficulties with crawling across modern floor surfaces.

Upon the importance of helping babies along during the crawling stage, Ollwyn says: “Wood, tile and laminate floors are better for the respiratory system but they offer no traction for babies. They slip, slide, bump and bruise themselves. Many give up trying which can impair their development.”

Delighted at her amazing achievement – and to be the only Irish finalist in the competition – Ollwyn described her nomination as “an honour”.

As well as selling the ‘Easy Grip Crawl Suits’ through their own website, www.creepercrawlers.com, the range is now also available in Mothercare stores nationwide.
