The internet is buzzing with gossip that that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting, not one, but two royal babies next year.
The rumours seem to have started on Celeb Dirty Laundry, and spread to mainstream sites.
People are not only saying that is Kate expecting twins, but they are twin girls and she’s going to call them Elizabeth and Margaret after the Queen and her late sister.
We simply don’t buy it.
The twin rumours were strong last time too, sparked by Kate's severe sickness caused by hyperemesis gravidarum.
Kate is understood to be under 12 weeks pregnant, as the royal couple announced the pregnancy much earlier than they had originally intended due to Kate withdrawing from official engagements.
It seems unlikely that she would know the sex at all at this stage, and even less likely to be gossiping about it.
Kate was legendarily discreet about everything to do with her first pregnancy, and the public didn’t find out the gender until after Prince George was born. Unless she has had a complete personality change, she wouldn’t be so loose lipped this time.
We won’t know the truth for many months yet, but these rumours seem to us to be completely made up.
