He’s been busy waltzing around the dance floor on popular US reality show Dancing With The Stars, but Nick Lachey has admitted that the show has taken over his life.

The dad revealed that his role on the show has put a major strain on his family life. He shared that his children are upset about his demanding schedule.

He spoke to Today about the family’s struggles, “My son said to me the other day, he's like, Daddy, I don't want you to dance anymore.”

The father shared, "It broke my heart, because you wish you could spend more time with your kids, obviously."

With both Nick and his wife Vanessa competing in the dance show, it hasn’t been easy for their children, “To have both parents fully engaged in this whole thing, it's been tough.”

Taking part in Dancing With The Stars is a huge responsibility for Nick. The workload is extensive, and it takes a lot of dedication.

He revealed that it can be overwhelming at times, “It's a lot of time. It's a lot of rehearsals every day, and then it's all the packages and the interviews and the things you have to shoot outside of rehearsal.”

Nick is grateful that he has his wife Vanessa by his side, as she understands exactly what her husband is going through. And Vanessa, herself, can empathise.

“At the end of the day, I can come home and talk about my sore feet or my sore back and emotionally how drained I am, and she totally gets it because she's in the same spot," Nick added.

Nick stated that he wouldn’t be too upset if he was in the dance-off, “It would absolutely be OK if I went home." He continued, “I actually don't like dancing that much."

His wife Vanessa seems to be enjoying the experience a lot more than her husband. She dressed up as Snow White during a special Disney-themed episode of the hit show.

She shared a touching photo where she can be seen in her costume, dancing with her son Camden.

She wrote, “This moment will be forever cherished! Thank You @disney & @dancingabc for a beautiful night that my family could share together. When it was all over my son said, 'Mommy, can I dance with you?' I melted! Of course, Buddy! Always and forever!!”

We hope the parents manage to spend some much-needed quality time with their children between their hectic dance rehearsals.
