Its official: There will be a THIRD Paddington movie and were thrilled

Paddington stole the hearts of many families when he hit cinemas all the way back in 2014. The loveable bear quickly became one of our favourite characters so we were simply overjoyed to hear there would be a third instalment in the film franchise.

The first two movies are firm family favourites so there’s no doubt the third will be a massive success.

The marmalade loving bear will return, however, one rather important person won’t be involved in the project.

Director and writer of Paddington and Paddington 2, Paul King will not be returning for the third flick. Unfortunately, the screenwriter is too busy to commit to Paddington 3.

He is currently involved in the Willy Wonka prequel and will direct the live-action version of Disney’s Pinocchio so we’re not surprised. He’s a busy man.

“Paul is involved in it, I wanted him to be involved in it because I think he’s such a significant voice, but I don't think he'll direct it,” said producer David Heyman in an interview with Collider

He continued: "He worked on the idea… he comes up with the idea with Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton and then they develop it and come back for more, back and forth, and then it’ll get written and Paul will come in and stir it up a little bit. But he's an incredible collaborator, Paul. Very positive, very supportive."

We can’t wait for the next Paddington movie to hit the cinemas. We’ll be first in the queue when it’s released, with our popcorn (and marmalade sandwiches.)
