Joe Swash gives special update about his baby boy Rex

Joe Swash has been ever the doting dad since welcoming his adorable baby boy Rex with partner Stacey Solomon. There’s no doubt the parents were stunned by the arrival of their son when he was born prematurely.

Rex couldn’t wait to meet his new parents so arrived a little earlier than they had planned. Their tiny tot was born two weeks before his actual due date on May 23.

Naturally the parents were concerned as Rex was smaller than he should have been when he was born, but Joe has shared a wonderful update about their little boy.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, the dad gushed: “He's four weeks old my little boy. He is tiny. He was only a little tiddler but he's put on loads of weight now so he's back to birth weight so he's ready."

There’s no doubt Stacey and Joe have been taking extra good care of their little boy to ensure he is as healthy as possible.

Stacey has been posting about her breastfeeding journey in a series of honest and touching Instagram posts. The mum recently explained why she has been pumping so much.

“I was told I had to,” Stacey explained.

“Baby wasn’t feeding properly, and I don’t think I got the latch right in the beginning which didn’t help. My milk didn’t come in until day five.

“I was told I needed to give top ups every feed and make sure he gained enough weight. So now inevitably getting baby to suck from the boob is really difficult after he’s gotten used to the bottle so at the moment I’m doing both to make sure he gains weight and hopefully he will get bigger and suck harder and for long enough so that I can cut out all of the top ups.

“But he may not so we just have to see how it goes,” she concluded.

We love how honest both Stacey and Joe have been since Rex was born. We’re thrilled to hear he’s starting to gain weight.
