If you are a bit of a sci-fi geek or simply love a good adventure movie, then you will be really excited to see the latest movie from Disney. John Carter is a sweeping action-adventure movie set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). The movie is based on the classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose imaginative tales were the inspiration for some of the biggest sci-fi movies of all time.
The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch – mums, you will love him!) who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realises that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
John Carter hits cinemas on March 9th with a 12A certificate.
