While we all know Christmas is predominantly about the children in our lives, that surely doesn't mean us adults can't make the most of the festive season too, right?

Well, according to a recent survey, conducted by Pharmaton - a carefully designed therapeutic supplement to help increase your mental performance and physical capacity- Christmas time appears to result in more stress and fatigue and less joy and cheer for many of us.

Instead of offering a well-deserved break in addition to a little rest and respite from daily life, December's festivities are actually a source of stress for a staggering percentage of individuals.

Findings indicated that half of participants surveyed find the festive period particularly stressful while 30% attribute Christmas as the reason for a feeling of general malaise.

With the vast majority of respondents planning their celebrations up to six weeks in advance, it appears a growing number of people are feeling the pressure when it comes to creating a picture-perfect Christmas day.

In an admission which would stun any child, 33% of those surveyed admitted they look forward to the new year so they can return to their routine and readjust their focus when it comes to work responsibilities and family commitments.

Are you surprised by the results of the Pharmaton survey?
