And while her family were obviously delighted after witnessing her long struggle to conceive, her younger sister Khloé’s response was probably not what Kim had hoped for.
In a clip to be aired on a new episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the 34-year-old, who is married to rapper Kanye West, can be seen telling the second youngest Kardashian her news.
Revealing that technically she wasn’t the first to be told as she had already spoken to her daughter, North, the expectant mum went on to say: "It has been extremely hard to get pregnant. We've done little operations on my uterus. I was so close to giving up and that's when it happened."
"I don't take it for granted. The fact that this is a miracle that's happened and I'm just so blessed to be pregnant again,” she added.
And while Khloé admits that she is “happy” and “excited” that her sister is pregnant, it’s what she said after that left us a little stuck for words.
Turning to the camera, the 31-year-old proceeded to add: "I really thrived when you were fat and pregnant and they compared you to a whale. That was the first time I was ever the thin one."
Obviously picking up on her sister’s joking tone, Kim then added: "This is your moment to shine. You've got to do every sexy photo shoot you can imagine.”
