We all like to think of ourselves as the cool mum; the mum whose kids aren’t embarrassed to be seen in public with...
But according to new research, it takes more than you believing yourself to be a cool mum to actually be one.
From driving them around to looking good in jeans, research of 1,000 UK teenagers aged from 13 to 19 revealed the things parents need to be doing to be actually considered 'down with it'.
Knowing good bands, not going through their phone, taking them out for dinner, owning a music streaming account and having a cool car were all considered important things when factoring if you were hip or not.
Other things included knowing the words to pop songs, letting their kids learn from their mistakes, liking their friends and being interested in your child’s social life were all cited as being important by those who participated in the survey.
