Kristen Cavallari shared a heart-breaking tribute to her late brother on Instagram in honour of his two-year anniversary.
She shared a touching black and white photo from their childhood, where the siblings can be seen enjoying a family day at the beach.
“This past week has been hard- it’s the 2nd anniversary of losing my brother and even though the date we go with is the 27th, for me it will always be the Saturday after Thanksgiving", she wrote.
The mum explained that they will never truly know the exact date of her brother’s death, “We lost him completely unexpectedly and it’s been a rough road for me and my family.”
The Hills star shared that despite her heartache, she knows her brother is watching over her, “I’ve had some incredible signs from him though- which give me a lot of peace- including one today.”
It is understood that her 30-year-old brother passed away due to hypothermia in 2015.
Michael was involved in a severe car accident in Grand County, Utah. Police who investigated Michael’s unexpected death believed that Michael crashed his car which was found in a steep and rocky area.
Kristen has found strength in her children, who have made the darker days a little bit brighter. She wrote, “We love and miss you every day Mikey.”
Fans flooded the emotional post with supportive comments. One revealed, “I lost my brother 10.30.17. Completely broken. Love to you.”
Another expressed their love, “This picture is so sweet and precious. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.”
