Suman Bansal will turn 18 tomorrow, and her father, Munish, has been taking a photograph of her every day for all of those years.

Now, her father has used every single image he has of his beautiful daughter, and has created a large-scale portrait.

He explains that he got the idea when his wife Rita was pregnant with his daughter and he kept photos of the ultrasound: “I just wanted to make a memory to see how they changed day to day, because if you see a child on a month to month basis you can see a big change and I wanted to see that change.”

Suman’s dad also took photos of her brother Jay, but he decided to stop the tradition when he was 15 years old.

Munish said of the commitment: “Initially, it was a hard challenge, but it has become like a routine. Naturally, it is a big commitment.”

The project has gotten Suman interested in photography herself, and says she will keep it as her hobby: “I would like to train and study to be a paediatric nurse, but keep photography as a hobby ... I am probably not going to continue the photographs when I leave home; I am very likely to forget a day.”
