As mums, we seek to provide our children with a moral compass and regularly encourage them to have a compassionate, giving heart - an endeavour which one mother from the States undoubtedly nailed if her daughter's incredible online campaign is anything to go by!
According to ABC News, 9-year-old Gianni Graham has attracted the attention of thousands, including some very well-known celebrities, after initiating a campaign to provide homeless girls with one of the world's most popular dolls - Barbie.
Unsettled by the fact a number of her peers were not afforded the same luxuries as she is, Gianni set out on a mission to collect 1,000 Barbie dolls for 1,000 homeless girls.
Opening up about the idea which came to her shortly after the festive season, Gianni told ABC News: "I was playing one day, and it just came to me that I could collect Barbies to help girls in need. Girls in shelters deserve the same things we have."
Proving she's a business-minded young lady, Gianni harnessed the power of social media in order to spread the word, and ultimately established the '1kbarbiesfor1kgirls' on Facebook and Instagram.
Gianni's organisational skills have certainly paid dividends, with media outlets reporting that the generous little girl has thus far collected more than 700 dolls, all of which are currently housed in her family home in Norfolk, Virginia.
Paying tribute to her child, Gianni's mum Whitney said: "I'm so proud of her, I cry every day. Her school is actually doing a Black History Month program soon, and they're dedicating an entrepreneurial segment to Gianni."
In addition to the dolls, Gianni will be sending notes of encouragement which urge her peers to stay positive in spite of their circumstances - an added touch which doesn't surprise her proud mum who insists that giving is simply in Gianni's blood.
Once Gianni reaches 1,000 dolls, she and her mother will, with the help of social services, distribute the dolls to local shelters in their area.
What a fantastic young lady she is!
