The lorry driver who killed a mother and three children in a "devastating" crash on August 10th.

 

Tomasz Kroker crashed his lorry into stationary traffic at 50mph while on his mobile phone on a motorway in the UK.

 

This horrific accident caused the deaths of Travey Houghton, 45, her two sons,11-year-old Josh and 13-year-old Ethan and her boyfriend's daughter, 11-year-old Aimee.

 

 

Dash cam footage released showed Kroker changing the music on his phone when he suddenly breaked and slammed into the back of stationary traffic.

 

Kroker pleaded guilty to four counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving on October 10th and has now been sentenced to 10 years in jail.

 

 

"This was a truly devastating case where a mother and three children lost their lives and a man was seriously injured," said Detective Sergeant Gavin Collier from the Serious Injury Collision Unit in Reading Crown Court.

 

"The more tragic element of this incident is that it was avoidable. Tomasz Kroker was looking at his mobile phone while driving, this needless and avoidable act has resulted in the most devastating circumstances."
