Louis Walsh has signalled the end of his stint in The X Factor.

 

In a statement, the talent scout said that he has decided to "bow out" of the popular singing contest .

 

Louis is the longest running judge on the ITV show.

 

"I've had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I’m ready to leave," added the 65-year-old in his statement.

 

 

As for the future, Louis said he is looking forward to returning to another series of Ireland's Got Talent.

 

He also has plans to go back to his "day job" as a manager, write his "memoirs" and to continue "seeing the world".

 

The statement also confirmed that Sharon Osbourne will be back as a judge, but only for the live episodes of The X Factor.

 

Twitter has been reacting to the news of Louis' exit and it's fantastic.

 

 

Twitter isn't so certain that his departure from the show, will be a permanent one.

The X Factor is due back for its 15th season later this year.
