TV presenter, Lucy Kennedy, and some of her friends has this week helped to launch Down Syndrome Centre’s Buy My Dress campaign which is supported by Kellogg’s Special K.

This is the fifth annual Buy My Dress campaign which invites women of all ages to donate lightly worn and once loved dresses from their wardrobe to support this very worthy cause.  Special one day, pop up sales will be taking place around the country on Sunday 26th May with proceeds of the sales going towards Down Syndrome Centre.

The Buy My Dress sales will be taking place in the RDS in Dublin, Waterford, Wexford, Cork and Galway and with prices ranging from just €10- €50 you’re sure to find yourself a bargain.

All funds raised from this year’s Buy My Dress will go towards the creation of a new and much needed centre which will provide facilities and support for children born with Down Syndrome and their families.

There will be something for everyone at the sale events including evening gowns, debs dresses and casual day wear. So, if you have a daughter heading to the Debs this year or have a special occasion coming up yourself, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up a gorgeous gown at a fraction of the cost. Guests will also be treated to a glass of Prosecco on arrival and there will be lots of stands to browse around during the course of the day.

The Down Syndrome Centre is hoping to sell 10,000 dresses this year so if you have a dress that you loved but hardly ever wore that you would like to donate over the next few weeks they can be handed in at drop off points in selected A/Wear stores, Unislim classes and Carraig Donn stores until the end of May.

It’s for a fantastic cause so MummyPages are encouraging all our mums to clear out their wardrobes in support of Down Syndrome Centre.

Buy My Dress events will take place around the country from 11.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday 26th May. Visit www.buymydress.ie to find the event closest to you.
