According to USA Today, Joe has been in a relationship with Lauren’s mother ever since she was a baby, and he has been ‘like a father to her’ over the years.
Lauren decided to make things official recently, however, and chose her high school graduation party as the moment to present Joe with the adoption papers.
The teen didn’t utter a word as she presented Joe with a gift box containing the papers, but promptly broke down in tears as he opened them.
