A man has died following an assault at a house in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. It is understood that a group of men with weapons entered the deceased man’s home on Saturday.
A woman was also injured in the attack. The female, who is in her thirties, remains in hospital and is currently being treated for injuries.
It has been reported that her injuries are non-life threatening.

It is believed that shortly after 3 am a number of men with weapons went into the injured party's house and assaulted the injured male and his partner.
There was another adult female and two children under the age of six in the house at the time of the incident and they were uninjured.
The assailants fled the scene after the attack.

The house is currently preserved for a technical examination, a car was found burnt out a number of KM away in Waterfall and this scene is also being preserved for a technical examination.
