Dad-of-two, Mike Tindall has opened up about how his eldest daughter is adjusting to life as a big sister.

It seems like the little girl, Mia is comfortably fitting into her new role as the eldest, thanks to friends and well-wishers showering her with gifts.

The former rugby player reveals what family life is like with their two-week-old arrival, Lena, whilst promoting the Val d'Istance Challenge.

"She [Mia] is very happy to be a big sister, she is happy about that."

He went onto explain how a favourite parental trick has been aiding Mia with the change in the household, a new sibling brings.

"We are lucky that people that have sent Lena a present have also thought about Mia, so she is getting stuff to open as well," he added.

Val d'Istance Challenge is a charity skiing event and will take place next March in Val d’Isere.

It is in aid of three charities close to Mike's heart: the Matt Hampson Foundation, Wings for Life and The Cure Parkinson's Trust.

Mike and his wife, Zara seem to have easily transitioned from having one child to two.

The couple stepped out with Mia last weekend, just 12 days after Lena's birth, to attend the Celtic Manor Resort Celebrity Cup golf tournament.

Later that night, the couple attended the Celebrity Cup Gala dinner in their best attire.

"We're doing alright at the moment," the 39-year-old said when asked how life with a newborn was treating them.

"We've had a couple of bad nights with her but otherwise she has started off strong."

Mike and Princess Anne's daughter, Zara, tied the knot in 2011 and welcome their latest edition on June 18.
