Here at MummyPages, we’re super excited about Monster’s University which hits cinemas on July 12th. The Disney/ Pixar movie shot to the top of the class at the US box office this weekend taking a massive $82million maintaining Pixar’s perfect record with 14 of 14 features opening at #1.
Everybody’s favourite lovable monsters Mike and Sulley are back and are attracting huge audiences with their hilarious college antics. The sequel has come in just behind Toy Story 3 as Disney/Pixar’s second biggest opening and is the 8th biggest US opening in Disney history.
Monsters University scared off huge competition beating World War Z and Man of Steel to the #1 spot. Dave Hollis, Disney’s Head of Distribution, said: “It definitely exceeded our expectations. The first film was so beloved and set such a high bar so we’re ecstatic.”
We just know Monster’s University is going to be a roaring success when it opens here too!
