An extremely lucky mother and young baby have escaped tragedy after the car they were in spun out of control and rolled into an oncoming truck.
The truck driver is said to have successfully brought his vehicle to a complete stop before the two collided.
The accident happened around 9.30am this morning on the N68 Kilrush to Ennis road near Dereen.
The car crashed into a ditch, rolled over and slid along the road on its side.
The mother and baby were treated at the scene but were incredibly unharmed in the incident although the mother was shaken.
