A woman, who was captured on film verbally abusing a fellow passenger on the 206 bus in Brent, London, has handed herself into police after the horrifying footage was uploaded to social media and circulated online.

36-year-old Simone Joseph, with an address in Willesden Green, north-west London, can be seen unleashing a tirade of racial abuse against a pregnant Muslim woman on the morning of October 13th.

While in the company of her two-year-old daughter, Ms. Joseph branded the passenger and her two friends "Isis b*tches" before telling them to "f*ck off back to your own country".

Ms. Joseph's outburst, which saw her threaten to kick the pregnant woman in the stomach so as to prevent her having any more children, stunned fellow passengers who felt compelled to bring the defendant's racist tirade to the attention of the wider public.

Having handed herself into police, the court heard that Ms. Jospeh boarded the bus with her child last Tuesday morning before unleashing a torrent of racially-motivated abuse at three fellow passengers.

"For no apparent reason the defendant started swearing at her, telling her to f*** off back to her own country", prosecutor Darren Watts told the court.

Highlighting the severity of the incident, he explained: "The verbal abuse, described as constant swearing, continued for approximately five minutes. The bus had a number of other passengers present, including children and indeed the defendant's own two-year-old child."

Ms Yakoubi, who fell victim to Ms. Joseph's hateful outburst, has spoken of her upset since the incident, telling the court: "As a consequence I find it difficult to sleep and cannot take medication because I'm pregnant."

The altercation has affected the victim's day-to-day life, with Ms. Yakoubi asserting: "Every time I go out I'm afraid I might find myself in this situation as something similar has happened on a bus on another occasion because I am Muslim."

Ms. Joseph was led weeping from the dock before being told that she would be released on unconditional bail.

Simone Jospeh will be sentenced on November 13th at Hendon Magistrate's Court.
