This woman was reunited with her son after he was kidnapped by human traffickers 22 years ago.

Zou Qixiu lost her son, Yuan, when he was four years old as he was kidnapped and sold to another family.

He spent his life in Fuijan but says his foster parents “treated me so well over the years”.

Zou admitted she thought she would never see her son again.

She had spent years searching around the country for him after he was taken in 1994 from a public square in Shaoyang where the family lived.

Yuan’s father died of liver cancer in 2001 not knowing what happened to his son and if he was dead or alive.

After having his own children, Yuan realised how much pain it must of caused his own mother and decided to try and find her.

After DNA confirmation was complete, Yuan travelled to Shaoyang to see his mother once more.

The emotional reunion was captured in some heart breaking images.

Yuan even got to meet the brother and two sisters he didn’t know he had.

The emotion became too much for Zou as she collapsed in tears needing to be lifted back up by relatives.

She gave Yuan a tour of the area he called home when he was young.

Showing him the bedroom he used to sleep in, the tour was incredible emotional and Zou held her son’s hand as if to not let him get away.

Yuan told The Mail:

“I remember clearly the moment I was taken by kidnapper.”

“I thought about looking for my birth parents in the past, but I never wanted to hurt the feelings of my foster parents.

“They treated me so well over the years.”

This is another success story for the increasing anti-human trafficking efforts in China with thousands of relatives finding each other over the years.
