Flying with a young child is no easy situation, as Hollywood actress Alyssa Milano summed up so perfectly last week, but one mum has been criticised for her rather controversial suggestion.

Mother-of-one Kelly Bradford has sparked ire among parents everywhere after appearing on This Morning to appeal to airlines to ban children from flights.

“Your holiday starts from the moment you sit on the plane. You let out that sigh of relief, you’ve left work behind, left all the stresses behind and you take off, and all of a sudden you get the kicking at the back of your seat or you get the wailing,” she said.

Slamming parents who bring babies on board flights, Kelly alternatively suggested that airlines even go so far as to segregate families from child-free adults so as to make flights more comfortable for others.

“We’ve got business class, we’ve got first class – why can’t we have a family section? Surely that would be better for everybody? You’ve got miserable, moany people like me who do not want your delightful children wailing in my ear for my flight,” she added.

She proceeded to call parents who bring their children on long flights “selfish”, saying that they need to consider changing their lifestyles when they welcome children.

Not surprisingly, Kelly’s comments angered viewers at home, who took to social media to let their feelings on the subject be known.

“This woman is having a laugh, right? Babies cry, it’s part of life whether on a plane, car, train or even in a restaurant,” wrote one Twitter user, while another sarcastically suggested Kelly’s ban to be extended to include people who sneeze during a flight.
