Anyone parent dealing with doctors and other health practitioners on a regular basis will know that paperwork and official documents can be more valuable than gold, which is why we sincerely hope to help this Dublin mum.

Swords woman Grace Maher has appealed for thieves who stole her car a week-and-a-half ago to return a folder full of important paperwork belonging to her three-year-old son Alex, who was recently diagnosed with autism.

Grace shared her story with the Irish Independent this weekend, explaining how the thieves broke into her home in the middle of the night on Wednesday, January 27.

They stole her car keys as she and her family slept, then fled in her white 11 D Hyundai IX35. Unfortunately, earlier that evening, Grace had placed a green, see-through folder full of Alex’s medical paperwork into the car; she was preparing to get them photocopied the next day.

“I had about a year-and-a-half’s worth of reports in the folder as we didn’t know what was wrong with Alex, so we have been having him assessed for the past year-and-a-half,” she revealed.

The folder also contains all of the details of Alex’s forthcoming appointments.

Grace has now appealed for those who stole her car, or anyone with information, to return the folder to her.

We sincerely hope that the folder will make its way back to young Alex.
