Sara Delmer is a mum of two little girls, six-year-old Abigail and Ella who is four. Living in beautiful Co. Wicklow with her partner Owen, she loves to blog about her life as a stay-at-home mum and everything in between.

We caught up with the busy mum to see if she would let us in on some of her secrets:

What is the most important thing you have learned since becoming a mum?
I guess the most important thing I have learned is to let go and just go with it. As much as you plan things, kids have a way of throwing everything up in the air and constantly surprise you, so you need to realise you can't control every situation.

What's the most ridiculous/hilarious/unbelievable thing your child has done?
My kids have done so many crazy things but one that sticks out is when Abigail drew a perfect picture of a little girl on Ella's forehead using a glittery pen! As much as I scrubbed, it took a week before it eventually faded away!

What's the weirdest thing you've said/done as a parent?
You know that saying, "Sometimes when I open my mouth my mother comes out", that still surprises me when that happens.

Name one thing you do that helps keep you sane?
I get out of the house at least once a week (without the girls) and go for coffee and I write and write and write. Coffee and my blog keep me sane.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to other mums?
Accept help when it is offered and ask for it when it isn't. Look after yourself, be it going for coffee, getting your hair done or putting on some makeup, do something to make you feel human again. You are still you so don't lose that. It has taken me a long time to figure that out.

If you had to choose just one thing that you absolutely love about being a mum, what would it be?
The way my girls' little faces light up. They are always so happy to see me and so full of love and hugs, I wouldn't trade that feeling for the world.
