Following her daughter's tragic death at the age of 15, Anne-Marie Cockburn has devoted much time to exploring what can possibly be done to prevent other families experiencing the same heartache.

In a moving video, Anne-Marie detailed the circumstances surrounding her beloved daughter's death and revealed that Martha had taken half a gram of white powder which left her fighting for her life - a battle which she ultimately lost in hospital in the summer of 2013.

With remarkably poise, Anne Marie recalled a traumatic experience which has left her desperately seeking answers, saying: "I've spoken to experts and read books and blogs and spoken to other bereaved parents to see what we can do about this."

Lamenting the fact prohibition did not keep her only child safe from the dangers of illegal drugs, Anne-Marie suggested we examine the futility of the concept and push for the legal regulation of drugs, remarking: "I’ve said that “Martha wanted to get high, she didn’t want to die."

Despite conducting extensive research online regarding the safest options when experimenting with drugs, Anne-Marie's daughter was still not properly informed and ingested a drug which was 91% pure MDMA.

Reluctant to see any other child fall victim to the same fate, Anne-Marie outlines her reasons for her proposition and promotes the Anyone's Child project which she says is "a unique chorus of voices [which] cannot be ignored; there is nowhere to hide from our harrowing stories."

Paying tribute to her highly intelligent daughter, Anne-Marie said: "She lived for 5,472 days, seven hours and 36 minutes, and her life was full of adventure – and I'm so happy I shared so many of those adventures with her."

Explaining her dedication to the cause, Anne-Marie simply says: "I want to prevent another parent feeling another loss like mine and the world losing another Martha."
