They say it’s the most wonderful time of the year, but spare a thought for those parents who, for one reason or another, cannot be with their beloved little ones this Christmas.

Mum Sally Faulkner is one such woman, and she has written a heartwrenching open letter (link here) to her two kids, who were abducted and taken to Lebanon by her ex-husband.

Sharing the letter to the Daily Telegraph, the devastated mother addressed her “beautiful children”, who were abducted by their father six months ago.

Explaining how she has been cut out of her kids’ lives, with all contact between them being cut off, Sally admitted that her one true wish in life is to be reunited with her little ones.

“Your daddy and I made a promise that we would always make things work and continue on our selfless journey of parenthood together from the moment we laid eyes on you both. The hardest thing for me is to forgive myself for believing this promise and trusting him, because now you are left without your mummy around. I wish I could turn back time,” wrote Sally.

Describing the ordeal as a “nightmare”, Sally went on to recall her precious children’s births and express her deep and unconditional love for them.

She added: “So right now, I wish I could hug you both like I used to whenever either of you were having a bad day, because I feel these days aren’t the best ones for any of us. You are my best friends, my laughter, my reason for believing in true love and most of all you are both my reason for living.”

Sally’s emotional Christmas wish is to have five-year-old Lahela and two-year-old Noah home – we truly hope that this will come true. Our hearts go out to her at this time.
