Mothers around the world have been left fuming by comments from an alleged religious community, which has criticised women who have Caesarean-sections rather than natural births.

In literature released by the group named Disciples of the New Dawn, members of the group brand mums who gave birth via C-section as ‘lazy’ and ‘negligent’.

In one of the most shocking statements made by the group, led by Father Patrick Embry, it is claimed that these women “didn’t really give birth”.

“Face the facts: You didn’t really give birth. You caught a lucky break. Please show respect to superior women who actually had what it took to get the job done,” reads one of the photos on the group’s official Facebook page.

While the background of the so-called religious group is still unclear, with many suggesting that the statements may have been published merely to enrage parents, the posts have attracted a wave of criticism and outrage.

Indeed, one commenter hit back: “I am proud to have had a C-section! I was in labour for three days. We found out my baby was stuck on my pelvis face up. If they would have simply moved her giving birth naturally I could have killed her!”

What a shocking report. Let’s hope that no mums or mums-to-be have been upset by these outrageous statements.
