How many times have you been there: you’ve just reached home with your little one after doing the weekly shop, only to discover that he or she has pillaged the store while your back was turned? It’s so common that it is practically a rite of passage for young children!

This is something that British mum Sarah Jayne Pattimore learned this week, when she discovered a healthy hoard of price labels in her five-year-old’s coat pocket after a trip to Superdrug.

Sarah Jayne took to Facebook to issue a heartfelt apology, posting on the official page: “Dear Superdrug... Please pass my apologies onto your Bitterne branch. I emptied my five-year-old daughter’s coat pocket today and found a selection of price labels. She apparently needs them for her collection to play shops. Sorry!”

Of course, Superdrug were more than understanding of Sarah Jayne’s plight, responding: “Apology accepted, she can keep them. Hope she gets good use out of them. Thanks.”

What Sarah Jayne may not have been expecting, however, was for her post to go viral as many other mums began to share their similar experiences.

“My son used to collect the little plastic bits with the size on that went over the hanger handles. [I] used to find loads in his pockets when we got home,” revealed one follower.

Many others praised Sarah Jayne for taking the time to apologise – and in such a public fashion.

How many of you have shared in Sarah Jayne’s experience?
