As parents, we are forced, on a daily basis, to make innumerable decisions which ultimately effect our childrens’ physical, mental and emotional welfare.
And while the vast majority of us hope to reach a compromise with our children which satisfies both parties, it’s fair to say one mum in the United States went a little too far in the wrong direction recently.
Having made the decision to tattoo the hands of her 12 and 13-year-old sons, Chantilly Thomas was placed under arrest and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.
The mother, who police in New York claim was not licenced to carry out the tattooing procedure, chose to ink her younger son’s hand with the words ‘Ride or Die’ while his older brother now sports a lightning bolt.
The incident came to police attention after officers at the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding the welfare of the two boys.
Ms. Thomas is now due in court.
