Sir Bradley Wiggins solidified his status as Britain's greatest ever Olympian this weekend and now he is ready to focus on something else; his family.

Yes, after winning gold in team pursuit at this year's games in Rio, the 36-year-old cyclist said it's time to go home and be with his family.

"I'm not doing Tokyo in 2020. My kids need a proper dad in their lives and my wife needs a proper husband," he told the Mirror.

"I wanted it to end like this, not some crappy little race in the rain in northern France. It's nice that it's finally over and it's a relief more than anything."

After his success at the Rio games, Bradley now stands proudly as Britain's most decorated Olympian with eight medals to his name, five of which are gold.

But that wasn't the only story of Bradley that was hitting the headlines this weekend. As he and his team mates celebrated their victory by standing for the national anthem, the cyclist did something very true to character.

And it was proof that his kids 11-year-old Ben and nine-year-old Isabella were very much on his mind as Bradley said he did it "because I saw my stupid face on the big screen and I knew my kids would be watching on TV."
