We’re always praising those everyday heroes who go above and beyond without expecting anything in return, and a US nanny deserves all the praise she has been receiving this week.

The unnamed woman, who is believed to be 62 years of age, reportedly saved the life of the baby boy in her charge after pushing his buggy out of the path of an oncoming car.

The nanny was out pushing the buggy containing the nine-month-old little boy in Long Island, New York, when the car turned a corner and headed straight for them.

It is believed that the woman was struck by the car, and she is now in a medically induced coma. The child, thankfully, was said to be unharmed.

Hailing the nanny as a hero, a bystander told Reuters: “She took the hit from the vehicle. She saved a baby; that’s a hero to me. She pushed the stroller out of the way, which in turn saved the baby boy.”

What a courageous and selfless woman. We’re thinking of her at this time, and we’re praying for her full and speedy recovery.
