Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter first published Peter Rabbit in 1901 and since then Beatrix Potter's tales of naughty little mice and gullible ducks have been enchanting children of all ages.
Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl is one of the best-loved children's authors of all times. If asked most people will have at least one battered copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Matila or The BFG or The Witches somewhere in the house. Kids love the gruesome humour, the magical wonder and the charm of each story.
Michael Morpurgo
Michael Murpurgo is a revered British auhor who has written many wondrous tales for children. Some of his most popular books include The Butterfly Lion, War Horse (which has been turned into a movie for the big screen) and Why the Whales came.
Enid Blyton
The beauty of Enid Blyton's stories is that they are universal. Her books are still as popular as they were when we were children. Some  of her best loved and most treasued books include, The Magic Faraway Tree series, The Famous Five series, The Secret Seven series and the Noddy books.

Judy Blume is a famous American author who has written many books for children and young adults including Are you There God, it's me Margaret?, and 'The one in the middle is the green kangaroo.

Julia Donaldson is a famous British children's author who wrote the very famous children's rhyming book, The Gruffalo. Some of her other popular works include, Room on a Broom and The Troll.
Jacqueline Wilson
Jacqueline Wilson is  a wonderfully British children's author who is best known for her Tracey Beaker books series. Her books are the most borrowed books in British libraries. Her books are cherished by young girls the world over. Some other popular books include, Double Act, Vicky Angel and The Lottie Project.
J.K.Rowling
What is there to say about the most popular children's author on the planet? She has written seven magical, enchanting children's books featuring Harry, Ron and Hermione and the ultimate wicked wizard, Voldemort. 
C.S.Lewis
C.S Lewis is a famous children's author, originally from Belfast. His famous book series 'The Chronicles of Narnia' have sold millions of copies, been translated into several different languages and have even made it to the big screen. 
Eoin Colfer
Eoin Colfer is an Irish children's author who is most famous for writing the Artemis Fowl series. The first book in his new series, W.A.R.P is out this year.
