The ones who raise us, whoever they are, will always hold a special place in our hearts – but one very grateful girl wanted to make it official in the most touching way.
Misty Nicole Knight and her family have become viral internet sensations this week, after sharing footage of her surprising the man who raised her with the papers to adopt her.
Taking to Facebook to share the footage, Misty wrote: “So everyone has been waiting for this, but I finally asked the man that raised me to adopt me. Love you with all my heart and can’t wait to be a Farrell.”
The footage shows Ryan Farrell sitting down as she presents him with a gift, and he proceeds to read her beautiful letter to him aloud. Then it gets to the gift, and boy, is Ryan in for a surprise.
After freaking out (in the best way possible) over a Batman v Superman onesie and chocolate, Ryan is almost rendered speechless as he finds the adoption papers. After wiping away tears, Ryan is seen embracing Misty, saying: “God, I’ve been wanting to do that forever.”
