Paddington fans in your house? Then this could be the perfect gift that keeps on giving

Is it just us, or does it seem like our kids have too much stuff these days?

The house is falling down with toys and gifts both from us parents and well-intentioned aunties, uncles, godparents and friends, especially since Christmas. Every version imaginable of cars, dolls and boardgames litter our child’s bedrooms, so much so, that we wonder can they possibly have played with them all in their short lifetimes so far?

So when birthdays come around again, we’re at a loss as to what to get them. Booking an experience or trip out instead of a gift can be a little dicey these days with Covid restrictions coming and going, and besides, maybe we should be getting them something more meaningful for their birthdays.

We want to instil a sense of charity, curiosity and good will in our children, particularly around Christmas time. We want them to be not only curious about the world around them, but eager to make their mark and make a difference for the better to it. And UNICEF’s collaboration with Paddington Bear might be just the way to do it this year.

The much-loved children’s character has teamed up with UNICEF to help children learn all about the lives of their peers around the world. Embarking on a journey to a new and wonderful place each month, Paddington sends back story-packed postcards (and more!) - perfect for children aged 4-10.

Like millions of children and families around the world, Paddington had to flee his home to build a new life. His story exemplifies kindness, tolerance and perseverance in the face of adversity, making him the perfect champion for children’s rights and to capture your child’s interest in the project.

Hundreds of families in Ireland have already joined Paddington’s adventures, helping their little explorers learn from other children across the world, while supporting UNICEF’s work to ensure every child is healthy, happy and safe.

For just €21 a month, families in Ireland can support UNICEF and as a bear-sized thank you, Paddington will send each child a personalised postcard (with more surprises) every month, making it the perfect gift that keeps on giving. Children love receiving post and it’s not often that something arrives with their name on it. Give them something to look forward to each month as they hear from Paddington on his adventures around the world!

Children will also receive a cute plush Paddington bear along with a monthly postcard from Paddington, the story of a child from that country, stickers, fact cards and an activity pack. Parents will also receive an accompanying email which will help to bring the pack to life for them and their child.

UNICEF receives 100% of this monthly donation which goes towards supporting children around the world. This unique and educational gift will assist UNICEF in supporting vulnerable children around the world and continuing their vital work.
